Network marketing refers to a business model that heavily relies on having a network of distributors to help grow your business.

There are various different types of network marketing, however, the most common type is known as multi level marketing.

There are a variety of names when it comes to network marketing, these include cellular marketing, multi level marketing (MLM), consumer-direct marketing, affiliate marketing, home-based business franchising, or referral marketing.
Businesses that follow this particular network marketing model often contain different tiers of salespeople – for instance, the salespeople are recruited to direct their own salespeople network.

Those that are within the new tier (otherwise known as "upline" earn money on commission depending on their sales, plus, the sales made by those in their tiers, too.

With time, these tiers can lead to different tiers, which provide both the people in the middle and top tiers with a commission.

Therefore, the amount of money made is dependent on both recruitment and product sales, too.

Thus, those in the top tier, and got into the company first, generate the most income.

Multi-Level Marketing
Depending on the business, some distributors can be paid on commission for recruiting more people to sell these products. Essentially, the more people you recruit, the more money you can make.

What you'll be left with is a system of tiers – or levels – of various salespeople.

This includes the top tier, the original tier (otherwise known as the "upline"), and various tiers below this (known as the "downline").

Moreover, a new recruit has the ability to recruit even more distributors – this creates the level's downline. This is known as multi level marketing (MLM).

In fact, some businesses under an MLM program allow you to make money five or more levels below.

However, you should keep in mind that the top tiers are the ones making the most money.

This is due to the fact that they receive all the commission from the tiers below. Thus, the newest recruits find it the hardest to make money.

When it comes to network marketing, passion is one of the most important aspects.
Plus, at the same time, choosing the right company that reciprocates this passion is just as vital.

Therefore, before you sign any documents, make sure that you choose a business that aligns with your passion.

Research their story, message, and services or products that make you want to make a difference and join the company.

When choosing a network marketing company, ensure that they have the following features:

• At least five years of operation – Within the first year, approximately 50% of businesses fail. Additionally, in five years, this figure rises to 80%. Likewise, signing up to a business that falls below this period is extremely risky.
• Steady cash flow – If the network marketing company has nothing to hide, then they will be happy to disclose their financial statements. Here, read these documents carefully to ensure the business is well-capitalized.
• Professional development – Make sure the company provides you with the right technology, coaching, and support required. In addition, make sure to attend any meetings and conferences to advance your career.
• Established customer base – Join a well-established company that is home to many reliable customers.

Step 3 – Make The Most Of Your Resources
Your success in network marketing is highly dependent on the amount of resources you have available.

Here, the first thing you want to start with is leveraging the things you have already, this includes, education, achievements, and connections, into your business model.

You may be surprised by the amount of relationships you already have to work on to grow your network and capitalize off.

However, before you turn to these people, make sure you're adding value to their lives with these services or products.

Plus, you should avoid pitches to everyone in your contact list, even if you can. Remember, giving is the most important tool you have.
