Simple Online Businesses to Start
If you are working a menial 9-to-5 job, you're probably getting tired of it. After all, you're at the whims of your superiors, you have the same daily schedule, and you must commute back and forth every day.

None of that sounds like fun. And, of course, more people are working from home due to the recent pandemic. Specifically, many are choosing to start their own online businesses. However, not all online businesses are as easy to start as others.

This article discusses simple online businesses to start at home that require minimal effort, time, and money.
Simple Online Businesses to Start
1. Social Media Consultant

Some smaller companies and startups don't have the time or expertise to handle their social media needs.

While many small businesses recognize that social media is a great way to help build a brand and to reach their target audience, they lack the human resources to launch a full-scale campaign.
You could become a social media consultant or manage from home. This means you will determine the best tactics, when and what kind of content will be posted, etc.

For instance, if you are a photographer, you could help businesses with their Instagram social media accounts. Being a social media consultant is an excellent way to make extra money while helping other businesses reach their social media goals.

2. SEO Consultant

Another type of business you could easily do from home is SEO consulting. Like many small businesses know social media is important, so do many know SEO is essential for their websites. However, many small business owners don't have the expertise to perform optimal SEO analysis. In addition, many don't realize how much power SEO has.

Your job as an SEO consultant would be to consult with small business owners about their SEO tactics. First, you can show business owners how SEO can help improve their marketing goals. Then, using your knowledge, you can use content structure, strategic keywords, and analytics data to help these small businesses get more traffic to their websites.

3. Web Designer or Developer

Another online business to start from home is web design. If you are a creative digital professional who does well with visual work, being a web designer could be right for you.

You would be responsible for designing people's websites, including the layout, color palette, organization of content, etc. If you are unfamiliar with web design, many tools, such as Chrome DevTools or Adobe XD, can help.

On the other hand, if you are into coding and are familiar with JavaScript, CSS, or HTML, you could get into web development. You would help small business owners develop functional, user-friendly, and aesthetically appealing websites. If you are technical, creative, or both, being a web designer or developer could be a lucrative job to do from home.

4. Virtual Assistant

Being a virtual assistant is one of the easiest online jobs you can do from home. This could be the perfect online business if you have excellent time management and organizational skills, this could be the ideal online business. The best thing is that you can do this job from anywhere.

This job involves answering calls and emails, creating schedules, arranging meetings, making travel arrangements, and other administrative tasks. There are many platforms like Zirtual designed for virtual assistants.

5. Be an Ecommerce Retailer

Yet another simple online business to start from home, perhaps one of the most popular, is an e-commerce retail store. But, again, you should focus on a specific niche, one in demand but also has limited competition.

There are many niches, whether homemade furniture, specialty dollhouses, pet accessories, or anything in between. We recommend doing some research first regarding the best products to sell.

To start an online retail business, you will use a web hosting service to create a website that has a built-in shopping cart and sales features.

Then, working with vendors to ship products is easily done. Finally, if you find the right product to sell, the rest should more or less take care of itself.
6. Become a Blogger

Blogging has been around for quite some time, but this doesn't mean it's outdated. There's a lot of competition in the blog sphere, but hundreds of millions of potential readers and many different niches exist. You could be a food blogger, travel blogger, pet blogger, or anything you are interested in and experienced in.

Using blogs, you can create a subscription system, have people pay for premium content, or simply make money using paid advertisements or affiliate marketing. In addition, you could host online seminars, create e-books, or even do digital coaching.

The trick is to create high-quality and consistent content no matter the niche. After that, the rest should be easy if you choose a good niche, make an SEO-friendly site, and create high-quality content.

7. Affiliate Marketing

If you like selling products online but don't want to deal with the sales, shipping, and inventory, affiliate marketing might be right for you.

However, if you want to be a blogger and create a content-heavy website and are looking for a way to monetize it, affiliate marketing is an excellent option. The simplest way to become an affiliate marketer is to choose a niche, create high-quality content, and link the products to your blog content.

The Amazon affiliate program is one of the most popular ones. This more or less means that you will create a sales-heavy website to promote and sell other people's products and receive a commission.

You can create a website to sell your products, do SEO and social media marketing, and gain loyal clients.

10. Be a Remote Tech Support Agent

Being an online or remote tech support agent could be a great gig if you are technically gifted, especially with IT and software. Unfortunately, most small businesses just starting up don't have the budget to hire full-time tech agents and IT consultants.

First, it is important to develop a strong writing style. This means being able to communicate clearly and effectively, without using jargon or unnecessarily complex sentence structures.
