Affiliate Marketing

One of the most successful ways you can make money with your website is through affiliate marketing. The process is pretty simple. You act as a salesperson through blog posts and entice someone to purchase a product elsewhere.

You will then earn a commission if you have successfully convinced someone to make a purchase through this third party. Let's give you an example.

Let's assume you have a website about golf and you've written blog posts which examine the best golf clubs you can buy this year. You will write about all of the brilliant reasons why certain golf clubs are worth buying.

The reader will then click a link through your website and access the store where they will make a purchase, based on your recommendation. If you have successfully set up affiliate links on your website, you can make a commission on these sales.

However, for this tactic to be successful, you're going to need an audience. If you haven't got an audience, how are you going to make any money?

Luckily though, affiliate marketing is extremely scalable so you've always got scope for growth and the potential to make some serious money.

You just need to be good at driving traffic to your website and building an audience who will trust your advice. If this is successful, then you can happily earn a good passive income stream.

There are plenty of affiliate schemes out there with well known brands and Amazon even have their own program known as Amazon Affiliates.

Product Reviews

One of the most well known and popular ways to use affiliate links is by creating product review content. Basically, it's an amalgamation of the same tactics used with sponsored posts and advertising.

You will write a review about a specific product and then attach affiliate links into the content which people will then make a purchase through, based on your review.

Be careful what you are reviewing and what you are saying though. You will want to be aware of what you are placing your name to primarily, but also the legal aspect.

If you have said that a product does X, Y and Z and it does not - you could be held liable for false advertising or wrongful/fraudulent sales tactics.

You could also lead someone to injure themselves or become sick through incorrect information, which can land you in trouble.

So, if you're going to review something - make sure you are telling the truth and do not over exaggerate a product or service, and definitely do not flat-out lie!

When we think about making money using media, the chances are you will automatically turn your head to advertising.

Many people who make a passive income will use advertising, and this is because it can be a very easy and successful way to do so.

All you have to do is to look at YouTube and see how many content creators use advertising with their videos and then analyze their passive income, which will show you how successful this tactic can be.

Placing ads on your website can be brilliant, but it can also fall flat. You need to be able to place ads in the right way, so you'll need some advice from web developers.

To start setting ads on your website, you could opt to use a third party network or you could speak directly with the advertisers.

Ad Networks

There are plenty of ad networks out there including Google AdSense and Adthrive which can help you make money with your website. They are really simple systems to use and to understand and they do all the hard work for you.

To get started though, you need to be approved to join their network to begin with. You'll then be handed a code to use on the backend of your website and that is quite literally all you need to do.

Over time, you will be given more freedom and more say over where these ads are placed and how they are used - but your website needs to develop and you will need a larger audience first.

If you choose to speak with the advertisers directly, you will have more control over the website and the ad's use. However, you will likely find it much more difficult to negotiate prices - which is why ad networks are so useful.

Micropayments can be a very great way to earn some passive income, but your audience will need a reason to commit to such a payment. Tools like BuyMeACoffee have been used in the past.

Essentially, micropayments act like a tip jar where your audience will pay a small amount to read and view your content - but of course, you will need to have compelling content for your audience to want to pay for it.

Another way that people earn money like this is through things like Patreon. Normally, Patrons will pay some form of tip to the content creator and they may receive something in return, like early access to content or something similar.

Sponsored posts on your website act in the same way as a sponsored video would on YouTube. Essentially, a brand will pay you an agreed fee for you to create a blog post about their product or service.

You will give your positive take on their brand and overall products and services, and generally just promote them. However, the only way that brands will do this is if they are able to see data which appeals to them.

For example, they may wish to see your click through rate and conversion rate are - if they cannot view this data, they probably won't bother sponsoring you.

What Makes A Website Profitable?
There are a few things you need to remember when it comes to making your website profitable. They are:

• A great user experience
• Optimized for mobile devices
• Great web design
• Fast page speed and performance
• Easy navigation of the site

If you can nail these down, you'll make passive income in no time!
